Only 1 more month until this little man is 1, which means only 1 more month of updates! What am I going to blog about (or scarcely blog about) then?!
Emmett is almost walking. He will stand himself up in the middle of the room and take 4-5 steps, but not usually further than that. I think he is a little more cautious than I give him credit for which is why he hasn’t totally taken off yet. He loves to push his walking toys, especially outside, which is nice because it has given him a whole new level of independence outside. Emmett has also figured out how to get up the stairs, extremely quickly. I have caught him at the top of the stairs multiple times after turning my back for just a second (or maybe more than 1…). But again, he is pretty cautious so thankfully we haven’t had any falls… yet.
Emmett loves food. He will eat just about anything you give him, but don’t try to pull a fast one on him and give his brother/sister something different than he is eating because this guy doesn’t miss a beat. He will literally throw an all out tantrum if he sees that the big kids have something that he doesn’t… Favorite foods are fruit, PB&J, yogurt, and smores…
Speaking of tantrums. This kid has it down… I mean “full on throwing himself onto the ground screaming, crying until he gets his way” tantrums… Its kind of like him and August are both in the terrible two’s together- does that mean they will grow out of them together in the next few months?!
Emmett is babbling quite a bit these days. He has “dada” down, along with “gahgah” (not sure what it means), and “buh buh” (again no clue). He signs more and all done, and will try to mimic lots of different sounds we make. His favorite song is still patty cake and now he’s starting to love happy birthday as well, because Shae love to pretend its August’s birthday… every. single. day.
Sleep is still going pretty well. He doesn’t night wake any more, but he does pretty regularly get up between 6-6:30 which for me is too early. We are more of a 7-7:30am family so those “early morning wake up calls” are not my favorite thing to say the least. He is still cat napping in the morning and taking a longer afternoon nap (1.5 hours). This morning however he was down in his crib by 8:30am for a morning nap, so we will see how his afternoon nap goes…
Overall Emmett is a fun, sweet little guy with a whole lot of personality. I love watching his personality emerge more and more as he grows up and continues to try to keep up with his brother and sister.
