This year the last few weeks of summer felt like they went on forever! Everyone else started school the middle of August and we didn’t start until after Labor Day, so those few weeks were LONG. I tried to embrace them, but at the end of summer we were all on each others last nerve. Shae was bored, and we were burnt out of the heat and pool (well I was never really burnt out of the pool, but the kids were!).
So, when September 6th rolled around we couldn’t have been more excited!! The kids switched preschools this year from Awesome Kids (which we adore!) to St. Michael the Archangel Preschool (where they will attend grade school). It was a really hard decision to make, but we wanted Shae to meet friends that she’d be going to school with so we felt that it was the best decision for our family. Its been a bit of an adjustment as all of the teachers and school procedures are different, so that first week was a bit rocky (more for me than the kids!)
Shae is in “Transitional Kindergarten” which is essentially Pre-K and she goes 5 mornings a weeks and 1 extended day (until 3:15 on Tuesdays!). August is in the 3s class and goes 2 afternoons a week with 1 extended day also on Tuesday. Tuesdays have obviously quickly become my favorite day 😉
We don’t have to be at school until 9am which is nice… but I’m already not quite sure how I’m going to do it next year when we drop off at 7:45!
Now I’m hoping to get more efficient during the 2.5 hours I have in the morning… after we get caught up on all of the doctors appointments and errands that we have been procrastinating the past few months.
